Exclusive Interview with Romano Ricci !

 

Today I was very lucky yet Honored , I felt a french scent all the way from France has Landed to Kuwait , I conducted a short interview and met the Man behind the Hat.

Romano Ricci Great Grandson Of  one of the best perfumists, The Queen of perfumes Nina Ricci, created his own brand and perfume by the name of “JULIETTE HAS A GUN” !

I was honestly nervous at my last steps to Lenotre sea side  but When I met Romano he calmed me down naturally , Very funny with an amazing sense of Humor , open minded  and honest , Stylish not just with the Hats and loves chicken Caesar Salad !

The set up was amazing!

 

The interview didn’t feel like an interview, We were chatting while eating great food by the sea side ,  It felt like I was just getting to know Romano a little more than just Press articles or Pictures , I wanted to know who he really was coming from him ..

Romano Introduce your self to Kuwait..

I am Romano I’m just everything you can see .. not more not less, I am a perfumer .. Created a Brand called Juliette has a GUN.

 

I Heard that you loved to Race Cars ..What made you switch from a Car Racer to a Perfumer ?

Yes I used to Love Racing Cars .. Actually I believe I’ve always been a perfumer , Racing cars was a serious part of my life but have always been in the back of my mind as a hobby even though I did it professionally, I always knew it was not going to last .

What was your Favorite Car and the First Car you put your hands on?

The Fastest One ! .. Actually Porsche is my Favorite because they are not the most powerful ones , they are the most Handy ones , it’s a car that has been the same for 50 years , they are putting small touches to it nothing dramatic , there is one reason for that because it’s perfect!

The first car I put my hands on , it was my fathers  .. Porshe Carrera 4,  4 wheel driver , Light grey!

 

Whats with the HAT?

To protect myself again you guys .. ” he laughs” .. No ..I just always wear a hat even before I created the brand , I wear it everyday morning till night , I can even wear it when I sleep but it’s not practical .. actually I Have a too much hair ” he takes his hat off and shows me with confidence “  so I’m not hiding anything

Tell us about ” Juliette Had a Guy, who’s Juliette? and what is the relation and mindset of Juliette with a gun?

Juliette is the Juliette of Shakespeare but people have to understand that as a metaphor , There’s no gun about Juliette has a gun , the gun is just to bring a bit of coolness into the perfumery , In powering woman , lately there are different scenarios , The gun is not about revenge , I call it Vengeance extreme , it’s more like a WARNING  , I have the gun I have the perfume , I hear you want to mess with me my vengeance could be extreme !

How do you Describe Juliette Personality?

She’s a Brunette with a complex Personality , when I say shes complex is because on one side shes the simple , very romantic very feminine , but on the other side she knows shes has a gun which means it can allow her to do whatever she wants, to fulfill all her fantasies and eats Life !

 

I heard about Your Experience in AVENUES mall can you tell us what happened exactly

Kuwaiti’s are snappy, educated, fashionable and modern Cool Woman.

2 Kuwaiti girls recognized me and they wanted to take a picture with the man with the hat ” like they said” ,  and then we spoke a little but ,nothing extreme but i was shocked of the fact that one of them started with I have to make a complain !

She told Romano I was in Selfridges and you were out of stock but it’s ok because I went to New York and Found it and she got it out of her Bag!

My friend Haya also is a Fan and she told me she used to get the perfume from London when it was exclusive to selfridges years ago !

What it meant to me Romano said  was ,first she traveled a lot London and New York , they are very fashionable because Selfridges and the place they sold JHAG in new york is for insiders , they are confidential with a  background education, She got the best taste because she wears ” Mid Night 300d”

What do you want people to feel when they wear your Scents?

CONFIDENT & SENSUAL !

What would you describe your Perfume in one word?

CONFIDENT

Who inspired you?

My entourage , Books , Movies , everything I feel , people I meet!

Did you family support you when you started ?

They gave me a hard time when I was young because there was alot of pressure , there was alot of tension it was not perfect, not everything was tasteful and luxurious , I felt very designated by the family from the succession of Nina Ricci and I escaped that with the racing thing , there was too much pressure then I got back to it strongly when my grandfather died!

I’m always at war against myself when I created the perfume , it’s like writing a book trying to find the write words and define what you right .. I’M A PERFECTIONIST so I have to get into the details even if you don’t see them for example

I actually modified one of my perfumes after the Launch for it just to be perfect!

What’s your favorite perfume?

I create my own perfumes even though they are not out and I don’t sell them

 

Any favorite Special Ingredients?

I LOVE lots of ingredients but I developed an Admiration of “AOUD” it’s such a powerful ingredient which is why he made a perfume by the name of “Mid Night Oud which I’m dying to try ” I love Oud!

I also love musks and Patchouli ( which is what I used in Juliette Got a Gun”)

 

Any Child Hood Flashes

I had an amazing childhood not the educational Part , We never had money problems that’s what was good , a made a world tour around the world in my fathers boat !

Any Embarrassing moments?

Nothing that comes to mind . “im only thinking chicken ceasar salad” ( his order was late , that made , his sense of humor is just unreal and it finally arrived!

” He put some flowers on it for it to look pretty for the picture ”

He’s also a Mozzarella lover , He’s french what can you expect

What do you think of Kuwait so Far?

I haven’t seen much of Kuwait, but what I can say is surprising , I have to figure out the religion part , there is alot of liberty and open mindness  which I think we have alot to learn from and the fact that there is no alcohol is a good idea ” I was shocked because that’s new” he said in a way sometimes its useless to drink , and i dont know because I have the feeling you have the same mind  as me and that is inspiring

Any message to 7ajidude Blog Readers ?

ADAPT THE FRAGRANCE TO THE WAY YOU LOOK

meaning there is some people who always smell good , “I love 300d” but don’t have only one perfume, if you want to be sophisticated  then wear a sophisticated perfume , if you want to be simple wear something quite discrete , I don’t believe a fragrance is just part of your personality , your personality is different during the day and Night , just adapt it to the way you are sometimes your simple during the day and much more sophisticated during the night.

 

 

Then we had some dessert and coffee before I leave ,I loved his presence , He said he will come back to Kuwait in 6 months which I’m looking forward to , cause you never get more of this man and his sense of Humor ! Thanks Alot for the Autograph and amazing Gift !

 

 

I never tried the perfume before , but I did today and I SWEAR on whatever you guys want me to swear on , It smells like heaven and believe it or not I felt so confident when I wore it , I don’t know which ingredient in there got to me but the smell was just amazing !!! It lasted till the next day , You won’t understand unless you try it ! This is my number 1 favorite starting from today !
