Was always a fan of DARK ART .. and when it comes to twisted art .. Thuraya is just legendary , was a fan ever since I saw her first sketches ..and a special tee drawing done by her for an artist. MY first impression was wow .. this girl is twisted in an amazing creative talented way!

Thuraya Lynn is a Kuwaiti horror psychedelic illustrator born in
October 2nd 1988. She recently received her Bachelors of Art in
English Literature from Kuwait University.

After seeing her uncle draw tigers and cats on one random summer
morning she decided to try it as a hobby, though soon it turned into a
love affair after high school.  She says “I was bad at sports growing up and
wasn’t too bright at anything else except for language and art class”.

She was inspired by classical Japanese horror artists such as Kazou
Umezu, Suehiro Maruo and Junji Ito.  she says”I also enjoy Asian horror films,
especially those low budget ones, they’re so surreal and silly- it’s
hilarious!” She cringes when random people refer to her work as
anime/manga. “They don’t get it all, it’s a different style and
philosophy.” Though she understands that she should carry on and
believe in her visions, no
matter what the stereotypes may be.

Currently she is concentrating on developing high quality self
projects including creating a short horror animation

Thuraya share your thoughts to the world !

“I’m still trying
to set myself professionally, I’m self-taught so I have a lot of
experimenting to do till now.
It’s difficult to say why I do what I do, but maybe it’s for myself
and my supporters. I get letters from stranger-friends expressing
their stories, impressions and connections with my drawings. We almost
become one at that moment, sharing innate emotions. It’s pretty cozy
and corny, pretty cool really!”

Love her work ..
